The OMOTO 3111 takes inspiration from vintage Type 1 jackets while subtly updating the silhouette for modern wear. Classic elements like the single chest pocket and cinch-back adjuster remain, but a practical waist pocket has been added for everyday functionality.
Patterned with a tailor’s eye, the jacket is designed around the human body: precisely cut armholes, thoughtful back pleats for mobility, and a refined collar size create a balanced blend of functionality and sophistication.
Made from a rugged 15.5oz slub-nep denim, the warp is spun from long-slub yarns while the weft incorporates nep yarns crafted from recycled cotton. This fabric, woven under extremely low tension on vintage Toyoda shuttle looms, produces rich vertical fading and a tactile roughness that evolves with wear. Rope-dyed with 100% pure indigo, the yarns fade from an extra-dark indigo surface into a striking white core, delivering dramatic contrast fades over time. Finished with a one-wash treatment, the jacket maintains the raw character of cotton while being ready to wear from day one.
